CarListAPI 1.6.2: New Launch plan added

CarListAPI 1.6.2 introduces the new Launch plan, optional product newsletter subscriptions, faster API request reporting, clearer usage calculations, and security updates.

Released 9 changes

CarListAPI 1.6.2 makes it easier to get started, manage product newsletter preferences, and understand API usage.

New Launch plan

The new Launch plan provides an entry-level option for developers and smaller applications that need production-ready automotive and powersports data.

Launch includes:

  • 25,000 Data API calls per month.

  • 25 VIN Decoder Beta decodes per month.

  • One website or application.

  • One allowed IP address per API token.

  • Automotive and powersports data access.

Launch is available for $19 per month or $180 per year.

Product newsletter subscriptions

Registration now includes an optional product newsletter selection.

When selected, the email address is added to the newsletter only after the account’s email address has been verified. This helps prevent invalid or unauthorized email addresses from being subscribed.

Existing customers can also manage their subscription from the Product newsletter card on their profile. Customers can:

  • Subscribe to product announcements.

  • Confirm when a subscription has been completed.

  • Unsubscribe at any time.

  • Subscribe again after previously unsubscribing.

Newsletter subscriptions are optional and are intended for occasional product changes and announcements rather than frequent promotional email.

The privacy policy has also been updated to explain newsletter consent, EmailOctopus processing, subscription activity, and unsubscribe retention.

Improved pricing experience

The public pricing page and customer plan-selection page have been reorganized to accommodate the new Launch plan.

Plan cards now present allowances and key differences more clearly, including:

  • Monthly API-call allowances.

  • VIN Decoder Beta allowances.

  • Website or application limits.

  • Allowed IP-address limits.

  • Monthly and annual pricing.

Faster API request reporting

Administrative API request reports have been optimized for large date ranges and high request volumes.

Custom date ranges and searches now return the first page more efficiently, while the selected custom range remains visible after the report finishes loading.

Page-wide loading feedback has also been updated to make it clearer when all report data is being refreshed.

More accurate usage displays

Usage percentages now retain meaningful precision as customers approach their allowance.

For example, 24,988 of 25,000 requests is displayed as 99.9% used instead of prematurely showing 100%. The dashboard reserves 100% for allowances that have actually been exhausted.

Usage cards also expand correctly when a close-to-limit notice appears, preventing the VIN Decoder section from being clipped.

Security and reliability updates

The Markdown-processing dependency has been updated to address recently disclosed denial-of-service and unsafe-link vulnerabilities.

This release also includes general reliability, formatting, and automated-test improvements.

No existing API endpoints or response formats were changed in this release.
